L Algery, country of contrasts, located at the North of l Afric, s'étend on a surface of 2.381.741 km2. Some 6000 km long borders, separate it from Morocco, of Tunisia, of Mauritania, of the Sahara Occidental, of Niger, of Mali and Libya. In North, the Mediterranean bathes on 1200 km of coast, in the south the immutable desert s'étend on meadows of two million square kilometres. Its relief, is composed of four sets: coastal chains of Tell; a succession of plates and high plains; a southernmost mountainous band, prolongation of the High Moroccan Atlas; the area of the Sahara with its mountainous solid masses. Algeria profits from a Méditerranéen climate: the sun is shining all along l'année and the winters are soft.
