Passing from the west through the spectacular Cogman’s Kloof from Ashton, along the Route 62, one finds the picturesque village of Montagu, renowned for its Muscadel grapes.

Montagu, often called the ‘The Heart of Route 62’, boasts various beautifully restored thatchroofed buildings dating back to the 1800’s.

Apart from its wines, fruit and healthy climate, Montagu is also well known for its hot mineral springs.

The local museum offers a unique service, supplying to the public a wide variety of natural herbs

 

 

 

grown in their herb garden and collected from the veld.

How to reach us

From the East (Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna etc.):
Follow the R62 into Montagu.
Turn right at the 5th street (Church Street).
Drive up to the church and turn right into Bath Street.
We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street.

From the West and South (Cape Town, Worcester, Hermanus, and Swellendam etc.):
Follow the R60/R62 into Montagu.
Turn left at the 3rd street (Church Street).
Drive up to the church and turn right into Bath Street.
We are around the corner at number 36 on the right-hand side of the street.

From the North (Touws River, Beaufort West etc.):
Follow the R318 into Montagu.
Drive along Bath Street, through the business area.
We are diagonally opposite the Post Office at number 36, on the left-hand side of the street

How to reach us from the airport

From Cape Town airport, follow the N1 highway in a northerly direction towards Worcester. Take the second turn-off into Worcester and follow the signs to the R62 and Robertson. Drive through Robertson (±50km from Worcester) along the R62 through Ashton and onto Montagu (±25km from Robertson).

The total distance form the airport is ±180km and will take at least 2 hours to drive.
