Hotel "Bona" is situated at the Jurassic Landscape Park area close to the highway A-4 (about 1 km from the route leading to Kraków-Podgórze). The highway provides very short acces (5 km) from the International Airport Krakow-Balice. Drivers can easily avoid traffic jams in the city. One of the most attractive and famous place is the Benedictive abbey (0 class monument) in Tyniec. The fortified monastery is rising high upon a precious white rock over the Vistula. It's the oldest, nearly 1000 year old, object of this type in Poland. It was founded in the XIth century by Kazimierz the Restover. The fortres raised on the steep hill secured the acces to Krakow. Archeologist have proved that as early as-from the VIIth to the Vth centuries B.C. the hill was the site of a fortified settlement of the Lusatian culture. The name "Tyniec" comes from old Polish "Tyn", meaning a wall or an enclosure. The restoration work has been carried out for several years now and the monastery is slowly resuming its old splendor. The Benedictines from Tyniec are famous for having translated the Bible appeared due to monks who for many years were studing old christian scripts. Every year there is the organ music festival in Tyniec monastery provading unique atmosphere.
