Self-catering cottages for holiday rent with pool, completely equipped and newly finished with their own private gardens on the high part of the estate enjoying outstanding views over the Tiétar valley and the Rosarito reservoir, and is also close to the regional park Parque Regional de Gredos. It is surrounded by small streams, local tracks, lanes perfect for horse riding and walking, canoeing down the Tiétar and the Rosarito and in the central Gredos Massif, excellent for birdwatching and other outdoor activities, whether independently or with local guides. The nearest village is El Raso, 2 mins. Close to Avila, Salamanca and the historic centres of Castille. All services in the village, and many lovely old towns within 10 mins drive. Visit beautiful UNESCO cities and monumental towns of Toledo, Trujillo, Guadalupe, Avila, Caceres, less than 90 mins. Great centre for a holiday, 180 km Madrid Airport.

 

Pony trekking along beautiful lanes - from an hour to several days; canoeing down the Tietar - suitable for all levels, life jackets etc included; climbing; gliding; guided walks in the Sierra de Gredos and its fascinating landscape (see protected species such as the golden eagle, vultures, storks, etc); walks to the Hermanitos de Tejea; the Albarea refuge, the climb up to the Candeleda pass, the bridge over the pass which remains as solid today as when the Romans built it.

Golf (9 hole course) in delightful setting. Fishing. Hunting(excursions for all sorts of big game: deer, mountain goat, wild boar, etc)

 

Places of interest: Castro Celta and its cave paintings, Santuario de Chilla. The Asunción church in Candeleda from the second century (the altar piece of Talavera ceramics is one of the oldest in the area); villages denominated of special tourist interest for their fiestas, such as Romería de Chilla, los Empalaos in Valverde, el Peropalo in Villanueva or the Jarramplas.

This iron-age settlement is the most archeologically important in the south of Gredos. 2 of the huts have been preserved as well as a large part of the original walls. Spectaular views over the valley.

The wonderful world opens before your eyes, when you see the giant bee hives and hear the buzzing of millions of bees producing honey and wax. Great to listen to the people tell you about the world of bees. You'll be fascinated
