Formerly the infamous Spadina Hotel, our building has been called a home-away-from-home by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Jack Nicholson and The Rolling Stones. Now Global Village Backpackers is your home in Toronto and the perfect hub for independent travellers touring North America. Conveniently located downtown in Toronto’s Entertainment District, we’re just minutes away from world-class theatre, Toronto’s best nightclubs, restaurants and shopping districts, the Air Canada Centre - home of professional sports franchises Toronto Raptors (NBA) and The Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) - and right outside our front door, you can’t miss the world’s tallest free-standing structure: the CN Tower
Toronto’s Original Backpackers Hostel is also her largest with over 190 beds, large common areas, an industrial kitchen, laundry room, lockers, multiple shared washrooms on each floor, internet kiosks, a travel desk, daily tour departures, a stunning outdoor patio and Toronto’s only in-house backpackers’ pub. Join other travellers and our social staff at the bar for nightly events and drink specials where anything can happen! We also offer an inexpensive continental breakfast and free tea/coffee/hot chocolate every morning.
The majority of our rooms are “quads”, meaning that there are two sets of bunk beds (4 beds per room). There are also dorms available with 6, 10 or 14 beds. We have a limited number of private rooms, equipped with one double bed per room. Clean linen and towels are provided upon check-in. We offer a discount on all beds for valid card-carrying members of ISIC, VIP Backpackers, SWAP/BUNAC, ISE, GO and Hostelling International.
